Natewisch
The Foundation
Taets van Amerongen van Natewisch
In 1961, the Taets van Amerongen van Natewisch Foundation was established to ensure the continued existence of this exceptional monument. The foundation owns the estate and bears responsibility for the upkeep, conservation, and management of the medieval residential tower and the surrounding grounds.
Conservation and access
The foundation aims to steward Natewisch with care and respect, balancing the site's historical significance with its inherent fragility. This includes close collaboration with heritage authorities and adherence to the guidelines of the Rijksdienst voor het Cultureel Erfgoed (Cultural Heritage Agency of the Netherlands).
National monument
Natewisch is entered in the national monuments register under two numbers. The listing protects both the building and its immediate surroundings. Parts of the grounds are also recognised as a protected archaeological monument, bearing witness to a history of habitation dating back to the thirteenth century.
