Natewisch
Est. circa 1270 · Amerongen, Utrecht · Listed monument 7761
Medieval residential tower
Nearly eight centuries
Natewisch is one of the few surviving solitary residential towers of the knight's estate type in the Netherlands. Standing on the Lekdijk in Amerongen, the brick tower—built in the fourteenth century—has risen above the landscape of the Utrechtse Heuvelrug for centuries. Through the ages it has been inhabited, drawn, and carefully preserved.
